The Property department in this organisation is undergoing the most significant transformation and a number of career-defining opportunities are available.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership and oversight in the delivery of a regional property facility management service. Duties will include:  

    • Optimise the local property occupancy and asset utilisation, ensuring compliance and fulfilment of building and statutory standards.
    • Identify property portfolio risks and capital expenditure requirements to ensure properties are compliant and meet internally mandated requirements.  
    • Achieve operational excellence of all planned and reactive maintenance, facilities and cleaning services across the portfolio.
    • Create and manage a new regional FM team, including area managers, maintenance staff and contractors.
    • Assist implementation of national;
      • electronic facilities management software system, to support a consistent approach to maintenance;
      • processes, policies and procedures.
    • Manage customer relationships, including overseeing and managing change impacts on them.
    • Achieve value adding benefits such as;
      • income generation and / or investment e.g. occupancy management, solar panel scheme.
      • cost savings such as procurement of maintenance and minor capital works expenditure, utilities / services savings, outsourcing of cleaning and grounds maintenance, etc.
    • Manage property maintenance expenditure and budgets, including reporting of key issues and solutions to management.
    • Provide strategic facilities management and other general property advice and support to other core property functions to support overall optimisation of the portfolio.


  • Strengthen the commercial and financial return of your portfolio for ongoing commercial sustainability. 


About You

To be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified in a building, engineering, property or business related discipline. You will have state or multi-state portfolio management experience within a human services space. You will be able to demonstrate success in a previous role in establishing and refining facilities management services for a geographically dispersed portfolio, including the implementation of relevant software systems, staff, policies and procedures.

Your budget management and preventative maintenance know how will be key in driving your success in this role.
