The Property department in this organisation is undergoing the most significant transformation and a number of career-defining opportunities are available.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide a commercially focused sales and leasing core property function to serve national customers and diverse needs. Duties will include:

  • Drive a newly created team and set them up for success.
  • Critically review all sales and leasing aspects of business cases, as they relate to residential, retail, aged care and retirement village developments.
  • Lead the Sales and Leasing national group by providing value added services for all leasing and sales transactions across multiple asset classes.
  • Oversee project leasing, project sales and marketing of new development projects.
  • Optimise the utilisation of all property assets, including maximising occupancy and identifying under-utilised assets for potential opportunities for the internal strategic asset management team.
  • Management of the leasing process, tenancy mix, retail strategies, risk mitigation and strategic planning, including maximising annual rental income increases.
  • Manage internal and external relationships including agency and tenant relations.
  • Contribute valuation and market intelligence to the strategic asset management team and assist in the analysis of highest and best use for subject sites.
  • Contribute value adding initiatives, such as analysing and recommending capital expenditure to optimise asset values and rental income.
  • Support Personnel with the housing of internal staff (current and retired), while balancing the customer requirements and financial constraints.
  • Provide the national property database with current and centralised information for all relevant Departments (finance, IT, etc) and reporting.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the customer and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with national real estate and other relevant legislation for the Sales and Leasing core property function.

About You

You will have a minimum 20 years’ experience in executive level, national roles across residential and commercial property sales, acquisition and leasing. You will have demonstrable experience in leading development residential sales, preferably with retirement village experience, including leading the implementation of project sales, advertising and marketing programs.

Within commercial property, you will have worked on property acquisition negotiations and due diligence of assets >$30m. Additionally, your commercial property sales and marketing experience will include the documentation of Information Memorandums to maximise sales price and the associated appointment and incentivisation of real estate agents.

Your commercial acumen will have seen you devise, negotiate and implement complex commercial and legal structures, such as risk sharing arrangements and staged commitments, to achieve optimised property transactions.
