About the Role:

Reporting to the COO you’ll lead a small team and manage the production component and OEM inventory supply strategy, supplier relationships, supply contracts,  and RM warehousing.  You will be responsible for overseeing raw material supply to production and aligning procurement decisions with the overall business strategy to ensure purchasing decisions deliver optimal commercial outcomes. You will play an active role in researching, evaluating and qualifying potential suppliers, and establish and maintain sound purchasing processes. You’ll also perform non-inventory purchasing activities for the broader organisation.

 

About you:

You are currently in a senior procurement role with proven supplier relationship and people management skills. You have worked in a highly regulated environment and have a background in manufacturing ideally from the medical device or automotive industries. You are commercially savvy, highly collaborative and analytical. You enjoy achieving outcomes through effective planning and communication, applying appropriate finance and purchasing controls.

 

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering, Science, Business or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in sourcing, negotiation, procurement, supplier management, warehousing and inventory control
  • Team Leadership and people management experience
  • Experience and working knowledge of ERP systems (QAD is an advantage)
  • An understanding of forecast, demand, production planning and MRP
  • Experience in coordinating and supplying inventory to production
  • The ability to evaluate and compare the capability of medical device component suppliers in moulding, electronics, casting, other manufacturing techniques and OEM products
  • An excellent understanding of purchasing controls
  • Effective financial management skills to manage budgetary requirements aligned with corporate business objectives
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485 requirements and GMP are highly desirable
