Following a strategic review of Talent Acquisition, we have created a new leadership role to support the transformation and change agenda. We are seeking an experienced Head of Talent Acquisition to be responsible for the operational oversight of the internal recruitment function and any support provided by strategic partners. This is a fantastic people leadership opportunity, and we are looking for someone who is continually seeking to develop the capabilities of their team and the operational performance of their function to best support business priorities and our ambitious growth objectives.

About the Role

We need a TA leader who is prepared to be proactive, lead by example, introducing new initiatives whilst supporting and coaching team members who are delivering recruitment services to the business. This role requires extensive stakeholder management and business engagement, particularly at senior leadership levels, to help better understand future hiring needs and the capability requirements in local and regional markets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a high functioning & contemporary Talent Acquisition model to enable Kmart’s business strategy and deliver an optimal candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of capable Talent Acquisition professionals in delivering a high performing, value add service to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Introduce new TA related initiatives and programs for Kmart to secure an end to end TA solution in partnership with others in the People & Capability function, business leaders and external suppliers
  • In collaboration with functional specialists, develop the Employee Value Proposition and Employment Brand offering, to enable effective sourcing and talent pipelining activities
  • Develop and continually refine the recruitment strategy for Kmart to support business priorities and requirements
  • Active involvement in key role hiring activity, whether managing senior roles or providing leadership / support to campaign / or direction in volume hiring activities
  • Lead key recruitment related initiatives such as Diversity & Inclusion, deployment of appropriate assessment protocols, implementation of new technology and processes, enhancement of supply chain and partner management
  • Continually monitor the functions’ performance against strategic business objectives and financial budgets – strong reporting and data skills are required
  • Be a forward-thinking TA Leader with the ability to lead others through change and to modernise the function in the use of new and existing technology and improve recruitment outcomes and functional performance for all stakeholders as a result.

About You, Essentials and Desirables

Tertiary qualified, with Business or HR qualifications, you are an experienced and proven TA and people leader with a passion for recruitment and are driven by results. Ideally you will have previous experience managing a mix of corporate and high-volume recruitment activity from previous in-house roles. Ideally you are someone with an eye on future technology and modern TA practices and experience of implementing change across a large organisation.

You will have outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships between the business and recruitment. Strategically and operationally focused, you are a results-oriented leader, organised, proactive and technologically savvy.  Comfortable presenting new ideas and initiatives at a senior level, you will have a natural energy and a passion for the changes you want to make.

Experience of retail recruitment is desirable but not essential, however the ideal candidate should have experience in high volume and data driven hiring processes.
