For the first time in its Australian history this organisation is building a national and unified Human Resources Team, providing services across Australia. In doing this the HR team are seeking to further enhance its service delivery in HR and invest in a range of strategic programs to support the development of its people.

Our client is seeking to engage an Employee Relations Manager (a specialist in the IR field) to contibute to the development of a national employee relations (ER) function which supports the development of an engaged and highly performing workforce. This position forms part of a national ER function, and will support the development of ER frameworks while undertakeing expert case management across all operational departments. This is a true ER role with a strong focus on Industrial Relations.

The role will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead the design, development, delivery and ongoing management of the national employee relations frameworks, processes, systems and services that build employee engagement across the organisation.
  • Leading the consolidation, development and renewal (where appropriate) of EBA’s to drive national consistency, simplification of industrial instruments and the maintenance of strong employee relationships and engagement.
  • Providing expert case management and employee advice (e.g. unfair dismissals, poor performance, harassment, bullying) to leaders and the HR team. 
  • In addition to be being the escalation point for the region, this role will be the first point of contact for VIC operations with regards to employee relations inquiries.

About you:

  • For this role you will have sound experience in an ER role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Employment Law would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in direct legal related roles – would be desirable
  • Experience in a large transformation environment, would be extremely beneficial
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving an ER strategy from concept through to implementation on a national scale within a large organisation, would be highly desired.

The position will be located in Blackburn, Melbourne and will require interstate travel.
