The position.

The Manager, Assessment Development is a key role providing strategic leadership in the design and development of new and existing assessments integral to the lifelong learning journey for general practitioners. You will lead a team of general practitioner assessment experts (most of whom work remotely), as well as project and administration professionals. You will be managing the engagement of general practitioner contractors in assessment development activities. In addition, some of the responsibilities for the role will include:


  • Effectively lead change management processes related to the introduction and development of new assessment models and tools.
  • Develop team processes to support the development of an integrated assessment framework, and the development of an iterative blueprinting process, both across assessments and for each individual assessment area.
  • Manage, review and improve the assessment development processes for each assessment.
  • Facilitate the development of pre-and post-exam resources and liaise with relevant stakeholders across the organisation to ensure consistent management and use of these resources.
  • Lead the review and redevelopment of the assessment development and delivery software, including liaison with vendors and potential contractors.
  • Ongoing management of the Assessment Development budget and financial operations.


About you.

With a demonstrated understanding of vocational education and assessment principles, you will a strong people leader with the ability to effectively implement key strategic and operational changes. You will also possess:

  • Experience in working with assessment processes and systems including knowledge of standard setting models.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience developing briefings, business cases/proposals, reports and presentations.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to relate effectively and manage conflict.
  • Experience leading software development projects, including vendor/product selection, contractor management, and managing integration with existing systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in education, management and/or business are desirable.
