About the role

As a result of growth within the business we are looking for two R&D Engineers who will identify new product opportunities as part of the New Products team. This unique opportunity will see you generate requirements for new products, via customer, stakeholder and commercial interface, while identifying optimal technology solutions for new products, by working closely with the R&D Engineers, product development engineers and scientists.

You will take ideas through to launch by working with design and product cross-functional teams to implement findings and assist in the product development lifecycle.

The key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, clinicians and professional societies
  • Analysing and distilling insights to identify unmet needs and opportunities for innovation
  • Completing opportunity assessments to evaluate commercial viability and strategic fit
  • Generating product concepts and validating them with end users and key stakeholders
  • Working closely with R&D engineers and scientists in prototyping to identify optimal technology solutions that meet stakeholder needs
  • Working closely with design and development teams to translate business level requirements into engineering system requirement documents
  • Undertaking “in site” healthcare facility testing of products as part of the product evaluation process
  • Contributing to IP development and evaluating possible licensing opportunities

About you

You will have a qualification in Engineering or related field and will ideally have a post graduate qualification (business, science or related), or some work experience in product innovation and development. Knowledge and/or experience of the biodesign approach and knowledge of the Medical Devices industry would be advantageous, but not essential.
