About the role

The Property Analyst role will be responsible for undertaking commercial and financial analysis of strategic initiatives across the property portfolio. Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of the national property portfolio to release capital for strategic drivers, including analysis of risk, capital expenditure, return on capital and the value of the existing or proposed uses vs the value of the property
  • Create innovative property solutions, whether through design or capital management e.g. mixed use, blended ownership and risk sharing arrangements
  • Financial option analysis, including return of capital employed, funding structures and NPV / IRR financial measures
  • Resolve and define all customer briefs and property outcomes for all core property functions
  • Coordinate and prepare business cases for all initiatives to sufficient standard to achieve internal approvals
  • Implement a strategic asset management framework that incorporates existing programs as well as the futureproofing of future programs
  • Research, gather and interpret business needs into functional and non-functional requirements that supports development of property-related processes in line with project / business outcomes
  • Provide property analysis and advice to facilitate property related decision-making within the organisation
  • Prepare financial analysis and commercial term sheets for potential transactions
  • Use analytical skills to critically review all business cases, leases, contracts and other matters requiring approval; provide recommendations to the internal Program Director
  • Prepare financial analysis and commercial term sheets for potential transactions
  • Provide advice in developing commercial terms for property leases & analytical support to the business

About You

To be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified in finance, commerce, business or accounting and have proven experience in property analysis within a property development company, investment bank, professional services firm or a sector where you have developed strong commercial and analytical expertise utilising a range of software including Excel, Visio, project related tools and financial modelling software like Estate Master.

Your strong communication and numerical skills will be complemented by demonstrable experience in solving complex problems, financial reporting skills and strong commercial acumen which will be essential to your success in this role. Investment analysis or M&A experience would be beneficial.
