 About the role

The Executive Manager Safeguarding Policy and Compliance will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing child and vulnerable people safety risk management, compliance and policy frameworks in order to proactively minimise risk and implement leading practices to safeguard children and vulnerable people.

 Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring all legislative, regulatory and industry requirements are effectively managed
  • Engage with Senior Managers nationally on child and vulnerable people safety matters
  • Develop tools and processes that proactively minimise risk to children and vulnerable people
  • Develop and manage investigations policies, procedures and processes
  • Build external relationships to leverage best practices in safety and provide high level advice to the Executive on how to respond to regulatory and legislative changes
  • Roll out online and face to face training modules across Australia
  • Establish and develop team capability

 

 About You

 To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in child and vulnerable people safety risk management, compliance and policy frameworks ideally gained from either a church-based organisation or large and highly matrixed business. You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills as well as experience in leading a team.

 A strong working knowledge of child safe, youth and vulnerable people legislation and a familiarity with the Royal Commission findings is essential. You will be highly experienced in community services policy development in the health and/or human services environment and be experienced in managing investigations.  A degree in Law or Psychology would be ideal, but a degree in Social Work or similar would also be considered.

 Your attention to detail, emotional resilience, excellent communication skills and ability to liaise and influence will lead to your success in this meaningful role.
