About the Role

We are currently going through a period of significant local business growth which includes implementing SAP in Australia. To support our success into the future we have a new opportunity for an Operations Finance Manager to oversee the accounting and operations finance team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery on financial accounting deliverables and optimising processes and procedures to develop a high performing team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, duties in this role will include:

  • Managing, mentoring, coaching and developing a team of 5 operational and accounting staff. 
  • Reviewing and streamlining processes and documentation around policies, procedures and protocols post SAP implementation.
  • Cross-training of team members in support of personal development and efficient team operation across the areas of AP/AR, credit card processing, bank and BSP reconciliations.  
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships across the business with a view to understanding current and future operational accounting challenges and providing solutions.  
  • Acting as the main compliance contact point for Operations Finance and ensuring relevant compliance standards are met.  
  • Reporting on operational data including aged debtors and other key metrics; presenting Operations Finance metrics at the monthly Finance Business Performance Review.  
  • Working closely with the Finance Director on business projects as they arise. 

 About you

Success in this role will require you to have team leadership experience within a similar transactional accounting team and a strong focus on outstanding internal and external customer service.   You will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to drive and lead a team to deliver high quality outputs with attention to detail and within deadlines.  Your proactive approach will support your ability to work in a fast paced, high transaction environment, preferably with experience in high volume credit card receipting and reconciliations. 

You will be qualified in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and have a high level of proficiency in MS Excel and Word and experience with ERP/financial systems such as Agresso, SAP and Concur.  Previous experience in the travel managment sector or similar will be an advantage. 

You will have a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to work autonomously to problem solve and achieve results.  Your team focus will be critical to support collaboration and good interpersonal relationships.
